Round 1 Pick 31: Blake Miller, Tackle, Clemson

With the first pick in the Patriots’ draft, Vrabel looks to fix the most glaring issue: the offensive line. Protecting Maye is the top priority for the team. He has deadly accuracy and extraordinary completion percentages. None of that matters if he has no time in the pocket.
Blake Miller is an instant starter in Week 1 for the Pats. The “Ultimate Iron Man,” he started 54 games in college, spending time at both left and right tackle. Miller pairs long arms with elite lateral speed, making him a clear fit at right tackle or even left if the Patriots decide to move Will Campbell inside to guard. While Miller’s hand work and pad height have been a problem at times, with proper coaching, he should be a solid addition to a weak line in New England, giving Maye much-needed protection on his blind side.
