Round 7 Pick 247: Noah Whittington, Running Back, Oregon

Noah Whittington is a sneaky Round 7 pick. The Patriots’ running back situation is solid despite the loss of Antonio Gibson. Running a two-headed attack of Rhamondre Stevenson and rookie TreVeyon Henderson, New England has a perfect mix of power and home-run hitting. Both backs played extremely well last year, giving the Patriots balance.
Whittington provides depth in replacing Gibson while adding underrated talent that could carve out a spot in a running back-by-committee situation. His violent, downhill running is similar to a Marion Barber or Devonta Freeman style of back. He also shows great acceleration when hitting the hole and good vision in open space.
It is not often a talent like this flies under the radar and gives Josh McDaniels another weapon to add to his complex offense.
