Round 2 Pick 63: Zachariah Branch, Receiver, Georgia

Zachariah Branch could be a steal at the end of the second round for New England. With the departure of Stefon Diggs, the Patriots need talent at receiver. Branch can immediately step in to fill the vacancy. At 5’9″, he plays a similar style to that of Diggs. Running a 4.42, Branch also brings much-needed speed to a receiver group that failed to get separation throughout the postseason.
A five-star recruit out of high school, Branch displayed strong hands in tight coverage and unusual strength for his size. He also has excellent YAC with breakaway speed, making him a danger every time he touches the ball in open space.
Former Panthers superstar Steve Smith has Branch ranked as the fifth-best receiver in the draft, making this an absolute steal for the Patriots if he drops to the bottom of the second. Josh McDaniels has a lot of experience utilizing shorter receivers, from Wes Welker to Julian Edelman to Brandon Cooks. Expect Branch to have massive production in the McDaniels offense.
