Round 6, Pick 216: Keyshaun Elliott, Linebacker, Arizona State

As stated before, the Steelers need more youth in the middle of their defense, and Keyshaun Elliott would find his niche in Pittsburgh. He’s the prototypical run-stuffing inside linebacker at 6’2″ and 231 pounds. What Elliott lacks in speed and athleticism, he makes up for with production on the field and character off of it, which is enough to warrant selection in the sixth round.
Elliott’s lack of raw speed certainly limits what his ceiling could be in the NFL. He would likely be a backup run-thumping inside LB, and a possible contributor on special teams. Teams need low-risk picks at this point in the draft to fill out rosters, and Elliott’s potential to contribute in multiple phases represents a good value in the sixth round.
