Round 7, Pick 230: Jalen Huskey, Safety, Maryland

In the seventh round, the prospects that are left will have to fight to earn their spot on the roster. Jalen Huskey had solid production in the defensive backfield for the Terrapins, but the lack of speed and athleticism severely limits his ceiling defensively. He has a lot of experience as a three-year starter, and his proven ball-hawking skills and 6’1″ frame could warrant a seventh-round selection.
With a legitimate shot to contribute in the defensive backfield out of the question at this point in his young career, Huskey will have to make his mark on special teams to make an NFL roster. With his experience, he should be able to find a home somewhere in the league as a special teamer. With some skill as a run defender, it might not be out of the question for Huskey to get reps at linebacker, either.
