Round 1, Pick 19: Kenyon Saddiq, Tight End, Oregon

Tommy Tremble is one of the offensive players scheduled for 2027 NFL free agency. He played all 17 games last year and was only targeted 37 times. He caught 27 passes for 249 yards and two touchdowns. If Young is going to convince the team to keep around at quarterback, instead of dipping into the ultra-talented 2027 draft class, he’s gonna need a target in the middle of the field. That’s where Oregon tight end Kenyon Saddiq comes in.
Saddiq is the unanimous choice as the top TE in the class. He is 6’3 and 241 pounds of lean muscle. He ran a 4.39-second forty at the combine, the fastest time ever for a tight end. He also recorded the second-best vertical ever (43.5″) and the second-best broad jump ever (133″). His athleticism showed up on the field in Eugene last season. Saddiq recorded 51 catches for 570 yards and led the FBS in touchdown catches (8).
The athletic freak has great hands in traffic and almost never drops a contested throw. He does show up on tape dropping some routine passes when there’s no one around. It’s more likely a case of thinking about the touchdown before he catches it than an actual problem. The biggest issue will be run blocking, unless the Panthers choose to split him out wide.
