Round 5, Pick 158: Aaron Anderson, Wide Receiver, LSU

Carolina addressed passing in the middle of the field by taking a monster tight end in round one, but there’s more than one way to skin a cat. One way is by drafting a 5’8 slot receiver who runs a 4.34 forty. In high school, Aaron Anderson ran a sub-11-second 100-meter dash and was a five-star recruit who committed to Alabama. Things didn’t work out for the Tide, and Anderson played the last two seasons for LSU.
The former Tiger suffered a knee injury that ended his season early, and he finished 2025 with just 33 receptions. He can absolutely fly, though, and playing between Saddiq, Xavier Leggette, and Tet McMillan, he could have a Wes Welker or Julian Edelman type of season for the Panthers. Despite his size, he takes the hits and holds onto the ball. Anderson does struggle against bigger corners when they press him, and his contested catch rate needs improvement.
