Once the Panthers address the outside of the defensive line, they need to add to the interior. Cam Jackson and Bobby Brown were average or below all year, which led to the team giving up more than 2,000 yards on the season. They need a big and powerful anchor in the middle, and they get one out of the ACC in this draft, with Darrell Jackson out of Florida State.

The 6’6 and 315-pound monster is just what the doctor ordered in Carolina. He had a career-high 45 tackles in 2025, three of those for a loss, and he recorded a sack. His height and albatross-like wingspan make him a nightmare for interior offensive linemen. If he gets his hands on a blocker early enough, he can actually occupy two gaps at the same time. He will be a plug in the middle, and he will shut down opposing running backs, but he struggles as a pass rusher. That may work out, though, with the speed on either side of him.
