Round 5, Pick 159: Devon Marshall, Cornerback, NC State

The three starting corners for Carolina are solid, but Mike Jackson could be gone at the end of the year. With increased pressure on the quarterback address in the 2026 NFL Draft, the team will need players in the defensive backfield who can pick off rushed throws. Essentially a hometown kid, NC State cornerback Devon Marshall would be a nice pick on day three.
Marshall is a ball hawk, and despite being under six feet, he plays the position exceptionally well. His Pro Football Focus (PFF) rating last season was 90.1. He is physical with opposing receivers and dominates in man coverage, but he’s not afraid to come up quick and put a big hit on a running back or tight end. He had 50 tackles and two interceptions last year, and led the nation with 18 pass breakups.
