Round 4, Pick 119: Carson Beck, Quarterback, Miami

Carolina Panthers mock draft, 2026 NFL Draft, Carson Beck, Miami

This should not come as a shock to any Panthers fan. The team has two quarterbacks right now whose contracts are up at the end of the year. There’s a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft who was at one time projected as a first overall pick. This not only fills a need, but has the potential to be the steal of the draft, and an all-time steal. After the season he had for the Miami Hurricanes in 2025, Carson Beck should not be around at pick 119, but if he is, Carolina picking him should be a no-brainer.

After his 2023 season, scouts were touting Beck as a top-five pick, and possibly even the eventual top pick in the draft. He completed 72.4% of his passes for 3,941 yards and 24 touchdowns. Last year, he led the nation with a 72.4% completion percentage, and he had 3,813 yards, with 30 touchdowns. So, why is his name being called on day two of the draft? It’s that little dash in between. 2024 was a slip year for Beck, who injured his throwing shoulder, and questions arose about his leadership.

Beck has clearly answered the questions, and if teams pass on the sixth-year senior because he turns 24 during the season, then it’s their loss. He has prototype size (6’5 and 235 pounds) and pocket awareness. He does not have an arm like Malik Willis or Josh Allen, but he can make every throw that an NFL quarterback needs to. He needs to get better at reading the defense pre-snap, but Beck has all the tools to be an eventual All-Pro.
