In the later rounds, the Day 3 picks will be used to add depth to established positions. Having already selected Ponds in round two of the 2026 NFL Draft, the Saints get some secondary depth with California’s Hezekiah Masses. He has good length but could use a little more muscle (6’1 and 179 pounds). He runs a 4.45 forty, which is decent enough. His big strength is man-to-man coverage, as opposed to zone.

Masses led the nation in passes defended in 2025 (18), with 13 pass breakups and five interceptions. For a cover corner, he also racked up an impressive 47 tackles. He is a master at mirroring a route, always staying within inches of a receiver, even in and out of breaks. He has a background in special teams, primarily in kick coverage and as a gunner, which is where he will cut his teeth in the NFL. Masses has a habit of grabbing, which is fine, except he gets caught (14 penalties over the past two seasons). Hopefully, he can use special teams to sharpen his tackling skills as well.
