Round 7, Pick 257: Deven Eastern, DL, Minnesota

With the final pick in this year’s NFL draft, Deven Eastern is the 2026 “Mr. Irrelevant.” As a three-year starter, the Minnesota Nose Tackle had an up-and-down performance in college. He stands at 6’5″ and 315 pounds, making him a massive piece on the defensive line.
Eastern is elusive at the point of attack, showing glimpses of his ability to be disruptive both against the run and the pass. When getting his long arms ahead of him, he displays strength to push through lines. His length and “loose” upper body style of play also create opportunity for his signature swim-move. Despite his size and sneaky arm speed, Eastern does lack a strong base, finding himself on the ground too often. He plays with his pads too high, negating his strength, especially when offensive linemen can get up under him.
Eastern has potential and, with the right coaching, could find a role for himself. For the last pick in the draft, he is a great value option.
