Round 7, Pick 256: De’Zhaun Stribling, WR, Ole Miss

Denver holds the last two picks of the draft. At this point, most teams are looking for the diamond in the rough, special teamer, or a low-risk, high-reward style player. De’Zhaun Stribling is an intriguing piece that may just fit Payton’s offense.
The Ole Miss receiver showed off his speed at the combine, running a blazing 4.37. Throughout his college career, Stribling blew past defenders, setting him up to find a role as a potential WR4 right away. He also shows a willingness to do the dirty work as one of the top blocking receivers in the draft.
Payton has a history of developing receivers and coveting speed. Look for Stribling to be used strategically, much like a Rashid Shaheed, used both as a deep threat and in the short passing game, using his speed to break long yards-after-catch.
