Round 4, Pick 111: Tacario Davis, DB, Washington

Denver Broncos mock draft, 2026 nfl draft, Tacario Davis, Washington

The Denver secondary is arguably the best in the league, led by All-Pro corner Patrick Surtain. With both starting corner positions already accounted for, Tacario Davis might appear to be a strange pick in a limited draft for the Broncos. Denver can definitely go a few directions here. Davis brings a lot to the table in addition to depth.

The Washington corner’s draft stock saw a rise after a blazing 4.41 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. At 6’4″ and a 37″ vertical, Davis excels at covering deep routes when in man coverage downfield, proving difficult for quarterbacks to throw over him. His speed can be a strength and a weakness at times. While Davis has the ability to go step-for-step with the fastest receivers, he can also become over-reliant on it to make up for mistakes. He is an instinctual player, jumping routes when sniffing out short passes and screens, and willing to be physical against the run. Davis lacks some fluidity that is seen in most top corners, so he could be moved to the safety position, which could also fill a rare need on the Denver defense.

Last year, the Broncos relied heavily on a strong secondary and could use depth if they are going make a Super Bowl run. Whether Payton makes the selection to add depth, play Davis as a nickel-corner, or move him to safety, adding the Washington defensive back should bolster the Denver defense.
