Seattle Mariners
The American League West is still wide open, and the Mariners are in the playoff race. What’s more is that in any trade for Skubal, they have enough space to re-sign him to a $50 million annual value if need be.
The Mariners also have a deep farm system with extreme potential and talent. Once again, the team has a pair of talented outfielders the Tigers could benefit from in Lazaro Montes and Jonny Farmelo. What might really push a trade through is if they are willing to either surrender Kade Anderson or Ryan Sloan as their premier pitcher headliner. They could sneak in Charlie Beilenson, who saw a jump in all his metrics this year, but that might require Emerson Hancock to go in a trade as well.
