New York Mets: RP Huascar Brazoban
2026 Season Stats: 35 G, 41.2 IP, 1.94 ERA, 11.0% BB%, 23.3% K%, 1.6 WAR
Given how bad a season the Mets are having in the NL East, it was hard to find an underrated player, since most of them are having poor seasons. When this happens for a team, the best idea is to look at their bullpen, since many strong arms often get overlooked. Luke Weaver has had a great season so far, but he was a big name for the New York Yankees and got a solid contract this offseason (2 years, $22 million), so many people would expect a season like the one he is having. Huascar Brazoban, on the other hand, is much more unexpected.
So far this year, Brazoban has been the Mets’ best reliever alongside Weaver. He has the highest WAR (1.6) and the lowest ERA (1.94) on the team for relief pitchers. This is by far the best season of Brazoban’s career, as he’s never had a season with an ERA under 3.00. With the Mets most likely out of the playoff picture, they have a chance to sell high on his stellar season at the deadline and get a decent haul of prospects in return.
