The Phillies were another difficult team to choose for. The team’s stars have been playing amazingly; everyone else, not so much. There seems to be a clear gap between the great performers who have always been great and the other, less-known players. Brandon Marsh has been consistently above average ever since he was traded to the Phillies back in 2022, and people don’t realize how important he has been for them.

Marsh has been having his best season so far, posting career highs in OPS and AVG. He’s also seen an uptick in power this year, hitting 12 home runs, which is already more than he had last year. Marsh has helped extend this lineup, which desperately needs it. Outside of Schwarber and Harper, every other starter has a below-average OPS+. Without Marsh, this lineup falls off dramatically, and they might not currently hold a playoff spot.
