Washington Nationals: 1B Luis Garcia Jr.
2026 Season Stats: 78 G, .279 AVG, 16 HR, 55 RBI, .850 OPS, 134 OPS+, 1.6 WAR
The Nationals have surprised everyone this year, finding themselves above .500 and 2 games out of the wild card, a little over halfway through the season. This success has mostly been because of their elite offense, which has scored the most runs in the league. CJ Abrams and James Wood have emerged as true franchise stars that the team could build around, and have gotten a lot of shine recently for their amazing seasons. This has allowed Luis Garcia Jr’s breakout season to go unnoticed by many.
Garcia has been on fire in June, hitting 11 out of his 16 total home runs. He has already hit as many home runs this year as he did last year and is two away from his career high. He has always been known as a contact-first player who doesn’t strike out a lot and has limited power. This year, he has maintained that low strikeout rate while also increasing his power. He has been an incredible part of the team, which has been a great story. Garcia should definitely get some All-Star consideration for his performance this year.
