Round 2, Pick 46: R Mason Thomas, Edge, Oklahoma

The Bucs address the pass rush in round one, then do it again in round two. With the 46th pick, they take Oklahoma edge rusher R Mason Thomas. The second-team All-American is slightly more undersized than Faulk, at 6’2 and 241 pounds. He was a Bednarik finalist in 2025, recording 6.5 sacks and posting a 14.6% pressure rate. A good thing that’s not like Faulk is that Thomas has an explosive first step.
Faulk shows incredible bend in the pass rush, but can quickly cut it back inside against slower tackles. His frame is a concern, and he is not as strong against the rush. He can also be manhandled by taller tackles with a longer wingspan. Overall, he provides a great option to get pressure on opposing passers.
