Round 2, Pick 60: Derrick Moore, Edge, Michigan

With their second pick in round two, the Bears go back to the defensive side of the ball, and more specifically, the defensive line. Despite leading the NFL in turnovers (33) last season, it wasn’t from pressuring the quarterback. Chicago managed just 126 pressures (25th in the NFL) and 35 sacks (22nd). Michigan edge rusher Derrick Moore can help remedy that issue. He could usurp Dayo Odeyingbo as the starter opposite Montez Sweat.
Moore had 10.5 tackles for a loss in 2025 and 10 sacks. He was first-team All-Big 10, and he got the job done, despite being of average size (6’4 and 255 pounds). He has incredible strength, and his bull rush was his best move last season, consistently pushing offensive linemen backwards. While he is an exceptional pass rusher, he tackles well against the run and scrambling quarterbacks.
Moore’s effort does not show up the same against the run as it does when he is rushing the passer. NFL coaches will need to put some NOS in that motor of his. If skilled offensive linemen get their hands on him, he does have issues disengaging. Despite that, he is still a day one starter in Chicago.
