The Atlanta Falcons finished the 2025 season in a three-way tie for first place, despite a losing record (8-9). Due to a tiebreaker in the division, the Carolina Panthers went to the playoffs, while the Falcons stayed home. This Atlanta Falcons mock will address a few needs. Their scoring offense was ranked 24th in the league (20.8ppg), and their scoring defense was 19th (23.6). Second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr seemed to take a step forward, but did not sway the front office from signing Tua Tagovailoa.

The defense wasn’t as bad as it looks from a scoring standpoint. In particular, the Falcons’ pass defense showed quite a bit of promise. They were second in the NFL in sacks (57) and led the league in pressures (213). This led to 16 total interceptions (sixth in the NFL). Opposing quarterbacks completed just 62.6% of their passes against the Dirty Birds and had a passer rating of 88.4.

In the 2026 NFL Draft, the Falcons only have five selections. They traded their first-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams to draft James Pearce (more on him later), so their first pick will be in round two (48), followed by a third (79), fourth (114), sixth (197), and seventh-round pick (231). There are no trades in these drafts, so the teams will pick from their designated spots.

Next: Round 2, Pick 48
