The Colts shored up Pierce for the foreseeable future, but Josh Downs is a free agent after the season. Physically, Douglas is a dream come true for any quarterback or offensive coordinator. He’s 6’4 and 206 pounds, has a 32″ vertical, and runs the forty in 4.39 seconds. He started his career as a Florida Gator, but played the last two as a Red Raider, hauling in 114 receptions for more than 1,700 yards and 13 touchdowns. He is going to win every 50/50 ball and has incredible body control.

The big knock on Douglas’ game is that, despite his straight-line speed, he doesn’t create separation when running routes. He can get by running fly patterns as a rookie, but if he wants to last as an NFL starter, he will need to diversify his route tree and run cisper, sharper routes.
