Round 5, Pick 156: Rayshaun Benny, Defensive Line, Michigan

Grover Stewart and Deforest Buckner are elite-level interior linemen, but Stewart is set to hit free agency in 2027. In round five, the Colts look to add depth, and if all goes well, a potential successor on a rookie deal. Rayshaun Berry out of Michigan checks all the boxes. He’s 6’3 and 295 pounds and runs an insane 4.90 forty. He didn’t become a full-time starter until 2025, but he made the most of the opportunity. He recorded 35 tackles and 1.5 sacks for the Wolverines.
Berry stuffs the run as well as imaginable, taking up multiple blockers and closing the gaps in the offensive line. He is limited as a pass rusher, though, and won’t record many sacks from the middle. He’s also had leg issues (broken fibula and knee surgery), but if he had a clean bill of health, he wouldn’t be available this low. Solid pick for Indianapolis.
