The Browns received a first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft as part of the package for Garrett, but the biggest piece they got back is Jared Verse. He is a young and promising edge rusher who fits perfectly into the rebuilding franchise.

Verse was the 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year and is a two-time Pro Bowler at just 25 years old. He recorded 36 pressures last year, culminating in a sack 7.5 times. As a former first-round pick himself, he still has two years and a team option left on his rookie contract, giving the team a ton of control.

Cleveland will add Verse to a defense that already boasts the 2025 DROY, Carson Swesinger, and 2025 fifth overall pick Mason Graham. Verse gives a boost of leadership and experience, which is priceless from a player who is just 25.
