Round 7, Pick 228, CJ Daniels, Wide Receiver, Miami (FL)

CJ Daniels, out of Miami, adds size and contested catch ability to the receiving corps. The sixth-year senior played for three teams in three years between 2023–2024, and he racked up over 2,000 receiving yards on 147 receptions.
He’s not a dynamic mover before or after the catch, but he’s a crafty route-runner and a ball-winner with sure hands. If Daniels can get a little better against press coverage, he could become a starting-caliber X receiver.
The Jets need to focus on adding talent, depth, and lineup versatility to their offense, so they can give their next quarterback the tools he needs to succeed. Daniels and 2025 trade acquisition Adonai Mitchell provide exactly that: a vertical counterpunch to the horizontal space creation of Garrett Wilson and Germie Bernard.
Round 7, Pick 242, Taylen Green, Quarterback, Arkansas

Although New York is punting on quarterback until the 2027 Draft, they decide to buy a lottery ticket at the end of the 7th round. At 6’6”, 227 pounds, Taylen Green is a 99th-percentile athlete (see his 4.36 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine) with a strong arm.
Unfortunately, Green still has a lot of work to do as a passer. His pocket presence, decision-making, and post-snap processing are all major areas of concern. His scattershot accuracy and slow throwing motion can lead to bad misses and far too many turnovers.
Even with all of his weaknesses, Taylen Green has as high of an upside as anyone in this class. This late in the draft, the reward of a dart throw like this makes sense. At the very least, he gives Jets fans an exciting addition to the uninspiring QB room of Geno Smith, Brady Cook, and Bailey Zappe.
