Round 2, Pick 44, Germie Bernard, Wide Receiver, Alabama

Garrett Wilson is awesome, but if the Jets want to develop their next franchise quarterback, they need more than one pass catcher. Germie Bernard adds a second QB-friendly target to the offense. The Alabama wideout is a fluid mover with excellent body control. His agility and field vision allow him to find separation before the catch and create yards afterwards.
Bernard isn’t a burner, and he needs to improve his play strength against man coverage, but he’ll be a reliable number two option and a go-to third-down target. He’ll make the life of New York’s next quarterback easier, and he’ll provide the Jets with some Garrett Wilson insurance. Not that a disgruntled star would ever want out of NYC, right?
So far, the Jets have added a pass rusher, two defensive backs, and a receiver. In the fourth round, they’ll return to the trenches. . .
