Round 5, Pick 169: Josh Cameron, Wide Receiver, Baylor

Kansas City Chiefs mock draft, 2026 NFL Draft, Baylor, Josh Cameron

Kansas City has to decide if they want to keep Rashee Rice around after his suspension last season for violating the league’s personal conduct policy. On the field, he is great, but free agency is pending, and is he too big a risk to sign for $30 million or more per season? Xaview Worthy is fast, but hasn’t really produced. He’s a first-round version of Tyquan Thornton. For depth reasons, and to be a potential starter, Josh Cameron out of Baylor is the team’s 169th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Cameron has ideal receiver size, standing 6’2 and weighing 220 pounds. A little on the slow side, with a 4.65 forty, but it didn’t hurt his production in college. His last two seasons, he had 121 catches for 1,622 yards. He was so good as a punt returner, teams refused to kick him the ball. This means he will have a home on the Chiefs immediately, even if it isn’t as a receiver.

He doesn’t have breakaway speed, but still amasses run after catch yards, because he’s so stocky, defenders can’t bring him down. He also knows where the holes in zone defenses are, so hit gets open whe nteams opt not to play man. He wasn’t asked to do much at Baylor, and as a result, he runs sloppy routes and has a limited tree, but those are easy things to fix.
