The Browns’ linebacker room is in a good spot after Carson Schwesinger’s emergence last season, and the addition of Quincy Williams in free agency. The departure of Devin Bush and his playmaking ability is a blow to the defense, and Cleveland will need depth at the second level to get through the season. Taking a linebacker in the draft is something the team will need to consider, and Jack Kelly could end up being a viable option.

Kelly was a disruptive force for BYU in 2025, with 13.5 tackles for loss and ten sacks. He is also athletic enough to hold up in pass coverage and plays with good physicality. His short arms make it difficult for him to get off blocks, though, and he is too inconsistent with his run defense fundamentals. Despite this, getting a linebacker that can rush the passer in the seventh round is a good value, one that the Browns shouldn’t pass up.
