Round 2, Pick 39: Brandon Cisse, Cornerback, South Carolina

Cleveland is thin at corner going into 2026. Denzel Ward is still an elite defender in the NFL, but there is not much depth behind the nine-year veteran. Tyson Campbell is one of the few Browns with substantial corner experience, with 12 passes defensed and a pick-six in 12 games last season. Depth in the defensive backfield is an area of need in the draft, and the team can fill that need with Brandon Cisse.
Cisse is a prospect with tremendous upside in the NFL. He has the size and athleticism that teams covet at corner, and has some game experience with 34 college games under his belt. The downside is that Cisse struggles with the finer points of playing the position, and he doesn’t have the production that is typically seen by players with his athletic ability. He is a bit of a gamble at this point in the second round, but the potential is hard to ignore.
