Round 6, Pick 206: Toriano Pride Jr., Cornerback, Missouri

When the draft enters the sixth round, teams are considering prospects that have their work cut out for them to make an NFL roster. While the draft stories of Tom Brady and Brock Purdy are incredible, it is much more likely that the players taken in the last two rounds won’t even see a second contract in the league. Teams have to do their homework to get the most value out of their pick, so that they can minimize deficiencies in their roster wherever they can.
Toriano Pride Jr. offers value as a slot corner in the NFL and brings playmaking ability with five interceptions in his college career. He has the athleticism (4.32 40-time) and toughness that a team would want, but a height of 5’10” limits his versatility. Some technical issues in man coverage and problems with tackling also hurt his upside. With that being said, Pride Jr. can earn his way onto an NFL roster with his athletic ability and skills in zone coverage.
