This was due in large part to their defense ranking dead last in points against per game (30.1). They also conceded the most total points in their entire franchise history (511).
During the offseason, there was a significant focus on retaining key players who contributed to the team’s elite offense, including re-signing RB Javonte Williams and placing the franchise tag on WR George Pickens. The team also made several moves on the defensive side, signing former Cardinals safety Jalen Thompson to a three-year deal and trading for Packers edge rusher Rashan Gary.
