Round 5, Pick 180: Tyreak Sapp, Edge, Florida

The Cowboys select edge rusher Tyreak Sapp from Florida with their 7th pick in this mock. Sapp brings valuable experience, as he was a three-year starter at Florida. While he lacks upfield burst as a pass rusher, he excels as an interior rusher, effectively pushing through the edge. Although he has yet to find a clean positional fit due to a mismatch in skill set, his versatility could be advantageous for the Cowboys, who need depth across their entire defensive line.
Round 7, Pick 218: Kejon Owens, Running back, FIU

At this stage in the draft, teams are taking chances in hopes of finding quality backups. It might be wise to look for a backup to recently re-signed Javonte Williams. The Cowboys’ running backs behind Williams struggled at times during the year, so selecting FIU running back Kejon Owens could provide some much-needed stability behind him. Owens had an impressive senior year, rushing for 1,334 yards and scoring 11 touchdowns. Hopefully, he can build on this momentum with the Cowboys to continue improving and become a solid backup.
