Round 3, Pick 92: LT Overton, Edge, Alabama

LT Overton is a four-year college player who spent half that at Texas A&M before transferring to Alabama. In Tuscaloosa, he truly broke out in his senior year, posting career highs in TFL (6.0) and sacks (4.0). Overton is highly versatile due to his size and athleticism, allowing him to play multiple positions on the defensive line, including the interior. This versatility is crucial, as he can contribute as an edge defender while also providing depth on the interior. This need for depth has become even more significant after the team traded away two defensive tackles this offseason: Osa Odighizuwa and Solomon Thomas.
Overton may not have the agility and lateral quickness to become an elite pass rusher, but his strength and efficient footwork could make him a solid asset in the run game. He projects to be a good backup across the defensive line with the chance to develop into a reliable starter. Getting a versatile big man capable of playing all across the defensive line is exactly what the Cowboys need at this stage in the draft.
