Round 4, Pick 110: Brenen Thompson, Wide Receiver, Mississippi State

The Bengals boast arguably the best wide receiver duo in the league with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, but the receiver room’s production gets more inconsistent past those two players. Andrei Iosivas is a solid role player for Cincinnati, with 435 receiving yards on 33 receptions last season. With Chase and Higgins further along in their careers, picking up some receiver depth in the middle rounds of the draft might be on the table for the Bengals. Brenen Thompson would be an intriguing prospect for the franchise to consider at this point in the fourth round.
Thompson is the definition of a big-play threat, with his 4.26 forty-yard dash and an average of 39.8 yards per touchdown catch during his college career. He is a menace on crossing routes and can potentially offer value on special teams, as his only punt return went for 44 yards. Thompson’s smaller frame and lack of run-after-catch production limit how NFL offenses can use him, but he can be another big-play option for Joe Burrow with minimal risk at this point in the draft.
