Round 3, Pick 65: Lee Hunter, Defensive Line, Texas Tech

Arizona brought in Andrew Billings on a one-year deal, but he and Roy Lopez aren’t the answer in the middle of the Cardinals’ defense. In round three, they get a big anchor in Texas Tech nose tackle Lee Hunter. The 6’4 and 318-pound defensive tackle was an absolute plug in the Red Raiders’ run defense that allowed an NCAA-best 68.5 yards per game. He was an All-American across almost every publication in 2025.
Lee has a massive wingspan to complement his massive frame, and he uses it to get between linemen and get to the ball carrier. As a bull rusher in the passing game, he was able to push around college kids, but he won’t be able to bully pros the same way, so he will need to develop his pass-rushing moves. That’s not where the team will utilize him anyway. He will take up double teams so the edge rushers can get where they need to go.
