This month’s premier MMA event will be of historic proportions for combat sports. UFC Freedom 250 will take place on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, DC, this Sunday, June 14th–the first sporting event ever staged there. While not having as many big names as teased before, the card is sure to deliver fireworks with seven fun matchups. Adding to the historical significance is Alex Pereira and his chance to become the UFC’s first-ever three-division champion in the co-main event. A night of exciting fights like these can go either way and will be sure to have a surprise somewhere. Here’s how the night plays out for UFC Freedom 250.

Diego Lopes (27-8) Versus Steve “Mean Machine” Garcia (19-5), 3 Rounds At Featherweight

UFC Freedom 250, Diego Lopes, Steve Garcia

The card kicks off with a battle between fighters with similar styles. Both fight aggressively and are willing to trade in the pocket to land power shots. Lopes is also dangerous with his grappling and will look to capitalize on any wild exchanges or scrambles. “Mean Machine” will live up to his name and push a relentless pace for however long the fight lasts. Lopes has an iron chin with a more versatile skill set and will catch Garcia with a big shot before locking in a submission on the ground. Prediction: Lopes By 2nd round submission

Bo Nickal (8-1) Versus Kyle Daukaus (17-4), 3 Rounds At Middleweight

UFC Freedom 250, Bo Nickal, kyle daukus

Nickal has shown tremendous growth in each fight and faces another tough test in the slick submission skills of Daukaus. Nickal will have an advantage with his elite wrestling, which bodes well in dictating the action. When he chooses to initiate and for how long is key, as Daukaus is dangerous with any opening to lock in a choke. Nickal will be able to mix in his evolving striking as part of a game plan to avoid trouble and cruise to victory. Prediction: Nickal By Unanimous Decision
