Arvell Reese, Rueben Bain Jr., Dillon Thieneman, Avieon Terrell

2026 NFL Draft, Arvell Reese, Ohio State

The New York Giants got the number two prospect at five. Ohio State outside linebacker Arvell Reese is a franchise-changing player on the defensive side of the ball. There is speculation about where he’ll fit on the Giants’ defense, but no matter what, this guy needs to be in the game. He’s a great off-the-edge and off-ball linebacker, showing versatility. The Giants will use him in several ways, and he’s going to shine, no doubt. He’s best off the edge, where his burst and ability to get to the quarterback are evident.

Bain Jr. went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 15. He is going to fit right in on this Bucs defensive line. They’ve struggled with getting pressure, and this pick will fill that need. The University of Miami edge rusher has speed, power, and a variety of moves when blitzing. His most important trait might be his attitude. Bain Jr. is a grinder who never gives up on plays and is an immediate upgrade to Tampa’s defensive line.

Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman was selected 25th overall by the Chicago Bears, who lost Kevin Byard to the Patriots in free agency. He will slide in alongside newly acquired Coby Bryant, completely turning around their secondary. Thieneman is a complete and proven safety, with good ball skills and versatility, paired with elite production in college.

Atlanta selected Terrell with the 48th pick, and he will team up with his brother in the Falcons’ secondary. He stands out on film as a cornerback who can play outside and in the slot, and is good in both man and zone coverage. His footwork and physicality are polished, and he has phenomenal upside for a second-round pick.

NEXT: McNeil-Warren, Young, Bell
