AJ Dybantsa

The Washington Wizards elevate their roster and get a generational talent with the number one selection. AJ Dybantsa is a game-changer and a force on the court. At Brigham Young University, he averaged an outstanding 25.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game in his freshman season. He is a 6’9″, 217-pound wing with incredible shot-creating and shot-making ability. He can score on all three levels, playing above-average defense as well. His athleticism for his size and his polished skill set make him NBA-ready on day one.
Washington looks like it finally has its franchise player and the ability to compete in the Eastern Conference. After failing to make the playoffs since 2020-21, the Wizards can end that streak simply by sliding Dybantsa into the starting small forward role. With Trae Young at the one, Kyshawn George at the two, Dybantsa at the three, Anthony Davis at the four, and Alex Sarr at the five, they have a competent lineup along with superb bench pieces. They should be playing in meaningful games this season.
