The New England Patriots’ offseason signings have definitely been a plus so far, with plenty of room to grow as well. Although losing some key players from this past season, the additions are exciting and show growth. With the draft coming up this month and a potential AJ Brown trade, the Patriots could be in for another great season.

Key departures from New England include wide receiver Stefon Diggs, linebacker/defensive edge K’Lavon Chaisson, safety Jaylinn Hawkins, linebacker Anfernee Jennings, and more. Although both sides of the ball took some hits this offseason, especially the defense, the additions that the Patriots have brought in are intriguing.

Patriots Additions This Offseason

Key additions for New England include wide receiver Romeo Doubs, edge Dre’Mont Jones, offensive guard Alijah Vera-Tucker, and safety Kevin Byard. Doubs, previously with the Green Bay Packers, signed a four-year deal worth up to $80 million. Jones played with the Baltimore Ravens last year, and signed a three-year, $39.5 million contract. Vera-Tucker, who played guard for the New York Jets in 2025, signed a three-year, $42 million contract. Finally, Byard comes over from the Chicago Bears on a one-year, $8 million contract.

Bringing in Doubs is a great move for New England, especially after releasing Diggs. He is a much younger player (25) than Diggs (32), with more upside at this point in their respective careers. Yes, Diggs was a great leader for the Patriots, which was absolutely fantastic, but his skill set on the field just isn’t the same as it used to be. He is still a very solid receiver in this league, but signing Doubs is much more attractive. The former Packer was overshadowed on the Green Bay offense because of the limited opportunities given there. When thrown the ball, he shone and showed potential that could be unlocked in this New England offense.
