Lucas Ramirez Shocks Team USA

Manny Ramirez’s son delivered in a big way with two solo home runs. The first came while leading off against established MLB ace Logan Webb. The second came later against Seattle Mariners reliever Gabe Speier.
The twenty year old Angels prospect pumped his fist in the air after taking Webb deep and appeared fueled by adrenaline as he rounded the bases.
Statcast Reveals
Logan Webb’s sinker is one of the most difficult pitches in baseball to elevate. The pitch features nearly 30 inches of vertical drop as it reaches the plate, which is designed to produce ground balls.
Instead, Ramirez turned on the pitch and drove it out of the park. The sinker normally produces ground balls more than 60 percent of the time in Major League play, yet Ramirez lifted it into a towering home run that landed in the right field seats at Daikin Field.
“It is crazy that it actually happened,” Ramirez said. “For five months, every time before I went to bed, after I prayed, I visualized it. And it happened.”
