WR Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers

Another senior citizen of the game, Allen is still an effective route runner who gets open
and has sure hands. He was targeted 120 times last year, managed 81 receptions for
777 yards and four touchdowns. Like Evans and Hill, he is going to be a number two or
possibly three wherever he goes, but he would be a great veteran to have around young
receivers.

Allen will be 34 at the start of the season, and considering he only made $3 million last
year, he could be a veteran minimum steal for a team like Kansas City. Young guns like
Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice would gain incredible insight from a player like Allen,
and quarterback Patrick Mahomes could look for him on crucial third downs.

Expect Teams To Opt For The NFL Draft

Teams will have their picks of old veterans and young “never had a prime” targets in the
WR free agency market, but expect the salaries to be incredibly low for this collection of
talent, so to say. It won’t make sense for any team to shell out $10 million per year or
more to this crop when the wide receiver market in the draft is deeper than it’s been in
years.

According to Draft Buzz, there are 34 players in this year’s draft with a rating of 80.0 or
better, compared to just 22 last year, 29 in 2024, and 29 in 2023. Why pay $10 million
for one or two years of old talent, when there’s a pool of players teams can draft and
pay $2 million a year for 4 years?
