The Philadelphia 76ers have been an absolute mess of a franchise for many years. Yes, they made the playoffs this year and only got to the 2nd round because the Celtics’ Big 3 Squad wasn’t healthy. After their dreadful performances against the Knicks in the playoffs, it’s time for this team to face the facts. It’s over, and it’s time to blow up the entire team and start another rebuild.

Paul George Decline Is Notable

Paul George was once a top piece for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers. He has shown a significant regression this season, and he looked past his prime throughout the playoffs. That’s not even getting into the knee issues and the drug suspension earlier in the season. George claims it was due to a mix-up on medication, but it’s hard to believe him. Dan Le Bastard said it best on his show, “Either you’re cheating or you’re incredibly foolish”.

At the age of 36, George is clearly past his prime. The 76ers have to get younger and move on from a talent who’s been disappointing in Philadelphia, although it was a step up from his time with the Clippers. The signs are there, and his contract is up in 2028. It’s better to get out of his deal before the decline becomes more noticeable.

Joel Embiid Contract Is Easily The Worst In Basketball

Joel Embiid is a great player, but he’s had major health concerns. The best ability for an athlete is availability, and he has had trouble with that. Whether it is due to an injury or rest, Embiid has barely been healthy for the team. It’s been so bad that at one point, he had missed more games than he had played through his career.

With how unreliable Embiid has been and the clear decline he’s shown on the court, it’s time to part ways. What makes this worse is that he has one of the worst contracts in the NBA. Embiid’s contract runs through 2028-29, and he’s making a ridiculous $ 62.6 million and 67.2 million in the final two seasons. Why is Elton Brand still here as the GM?

Now Is The Time To Sell High On Tyrese Maxey

Philadelphia 76ers, Tyrese Maxey

This is a bold one, but the 76ers need to trade Tyrese Maxey this offseason. Yes, he is the best player on their roster, but his stock is at an all-time high, and they’re going to need legit assets in the way of draft picks to help with the rebuild.

The player they can get the most assets for is Maxey, as he is on a decent contract until 2029. The 25-year-old is extremely valuable, but the team is going nowhere with him, and now is the time to sell high. Get top value for Maxey and help the team out in the long term.

The Only Player The 76ers Must Keep

The only player that the 76ers need to keep is VJ Edgecombe. While many fans and analysts doubted this selection, he looked solid in his rookie season. He put up a respectable stat line of 16 PPG, 5.6 RPG, and 4.2 APG. If he can play more consistently, cut the turnovers, and improve his shooting percentage, then he could be a Big 3 player on this team.

The 76ers must regret passing on Kon Knuppell after an impressive rookie season with the Charlotte Hornets. Now it takes 2-4 years for a prospect to develop, but Knuppell is a more complete player than Edgecombe right now. Despite that, the latter should be considered untouchable.

What Happens To Nick Nurse

As for Nick Nurse, who cares? Coaching does not matter in the NBA, as it is a player-driven league. Any team could put an elementary school counselor in that role, and nothing changes. After all, 90% of the players in this league act like elementary school kids on and off the court. Nurse could be a decent counselor for the 76ers in the future, but it’s time for a new voice when a rebuild begins. Then again, Nurse has not gotten any team he has “coached” past the second round since 2020. On a side note, condolences go out to him and his family on the loss of his brother.

It’s Time 76ers To Look In The Mirror And Start From Scratch

This 76ers team needs to have a wakeup call, because they are not going to win with this core. They haven’t been the same since the moment that Kawai Shot in 2019 happened. The final dagger was signing Al Horford to that ridiculous contract and overpaying Tobias Harris, which wrecked their salary cap. It doesn’t matter anymore because The Process has failed. It’s time to blow it all up and start from scratch.

Philadelphia is not winning with this current Big 3, this counselor, and whatever the executive board is doing. Everyone needs to go: Daryl Morey, Elton Brand, Nick Nurse, and every player except VJ Edgecombe. The question now is: will the 76ers see the truth, or continue to be delusional with this roster?
