Pitching Can Carry The Team

New York Yankees, Aaron Judge, Cam Schlittler

The Yankees have been one of the best pitching staffs in baseball so far, with the best team ERA in the American League and tied for the second most team shutouts. The starting rotation has tremendous depth and elite talent, led by Cy Young candidate Cam Schlittler. All-stars Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon have returned from early-season injuries and look in top form. Ryan Weathers, Will Warren, and Clarke Schmidt have given quality starts that keep the team in most games. They will offset the loss of Judge by working deep into games and keeping opponents low scoring.

Outfield Prospects To Call Upon

In the absence of arguably the best player in the MLB, the Yankees called up one of their top prospects, Spencer Jones, to help fill the void. Jones possesses the kind of big power that could carry the whole lineup if he can make enough contact. Former top prospect Jasson Dominguez will also be an option once he finishes his rehab assignment. He is a switch-hitter who has great hitting tools and the ability to steal bases to add another dimension to the Yankees’ offense. Both hitters have the talent to produce in the major leagues and should get the runway to contribute while Judge is out.
