Western Conference Semi-Finals Continued

Anaheim Ducks Vs. Vegas Golden Knights
The Vegas Golden Knights proved that with a little bit of momentum, anything can happen in the playoffs. They came back from a 2-1 series deficit to finish the Mammoth in six games. The Golden Knights are taking on the scrappy Anaheim Ducks in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. This could be the most intriguing of the second-round matchups due to how these teams play their own styles of hockey.
The Ducks rely on their speedy and mostly inexperienced core of Leo Carlsson, Cutter Gauthier, and Jackson LaCombe. The latter has been one of the best stories of the Stanley Cup Playoffs because of his eight assists. This upcoming matchup between Anaheim and Vegas should be full of high-octane offenses. The Ducks’ goalie tandem of Lukas Dostal and Ville Husso must level up their effort to keep the Golden Knights out of their crease and goal.
Vegas heavily relies on Jack Eichel, who added eight assists of his own during their series against Utah. His shots were not always landing on goal, but there were juicy rebounds for his teammates to pounce upon and put in the back of the net. He must start completing his opportunities for them to emerge victorious. Brett Howden from the Golden Knights’ second line has been their unsung hero of these playoffs. He has four clutch goals that he will look to add to against the Ducks. It is urgent that Vegas captain, Mark Stone, steps up his effort for the team to keep performing at their fullest potential.
Vegas does have a goalie dilemma that their relatively new head coach, John Tortorella, has remained stubborn about. Carter Hart has been inconsistent in goal for them. This has led to many fans clamoring for Tortorella to switch to Adin Hill, who helped them win a Stanley Cup in 2023. Hill lost his job earlier this season to Hart and is chomping at the bit to have his opportunity to keep the Golden Knights in the postseason. This dilemma will be a key factor in deciding who moves on to the Western Conference Finals.
Prediction
Tortorella does not shake up the vibes by altering their goalies and instead just changes the line combinations. It will not be enough, as LaCombe and Anaheim continue their astonishing Stanley Cup Playoff run against Eichel and Vegas to advance to the Western Conference Finals after winning the series in six games.
