Will Smith – Dodgers

It might be tiresome to continuously praise the Dodgers for their stacked roster and lineup of superstars. Will Smith is not always mentioned among the perennial MVPs peppered throughout the Dodgers’ lineup, but his importance to their World Series titles over the past two seasons is undeniable.

Without Smith, the Dodgers simply would not have won the 2025 World Series, and with a hobbling pitching staff in 2024, they might not have won in ‘24 either. Smith is an elite hitter, and what he lacks in arm strength he more than makes up for in presence and command of the pitch. No pitcher will question what Smith, a three-time All-Star, will enter into the PitchCom.

Final Thoughts on The Importance of the “Receiver” – Catcher

There is little doubt that a great catcher can entirely shift the makeup of an MLB team. Sometimes, unexpectedly, one emerges within an organization, to the point that a ballclub gradually moves from mediocrity to becoming a contender. For the Toronto Blue Jays, priority number one should be filling the void left by their standout catcher, Alejandro Kirk’s absence. Perhaps it will be Valenzuela who rises to the occasion. Filling this vital position with some offensive production, and an ability to call a game is what might save the Jays from a continued free fall.
