A Pro-Ready Prospect For A Championship Contender

The rich continue to get richer as the Thunder own the 12th and 17th overall selections in the 2026 NBA Draft. The Warriors expressed interest in Lendeborg as well, and Golden State could take him with the 10th pick. If he’s available, it’s unlikely general manager Sam Presti passes up on the talented power forward. OKC would be receiving a pro-ready prospect who’s been battle-tested in big games.
While most prospects enter the league between 19 and 21 years old, Lendeborg will be 24 when the regular season begins. Lendeborg would be the exception since he won’t face too much of a learning curve. He doesn’t have much room for improvement and comes equipped with the necessary skill set in order to thrive.
There exists the possibility of the Thunder losing both Isaiah Hartenstein and Lugentz Dort via free agency. Those two veterans played a major role in OKC winning the title a season ago, and the front office may decide against keeping them. Given the opportunity, Lendeborg could replicate similar production, preferably on the defensive end. Hartenstein and Dort are known for helping shape OKC’s defensive identity, but Lendeborg could offer more in terms of overall production.
