Trey Yesavage

Blue Jays starter Trey Yesavage continues to impress, during his first full season in MLB
Blue Jays starter Trey Yesavage has returned to form in 2026

The late-2025 sensation took MLB by storm with his unorthodox, “high-noon” over-the-top delivery. After beginning the season on the IL, Yesavage had a small bout of command issues that now appear to be resolved. The claim that opposing hitters will eventually figure out his delivery and pitch arsenal just isn’t transpiring.

He is a fierce competitor who continues to dominate hitters, posting a .195 opposing batting average. At just 22, and with a now respectable 15-start sample size in MLB, including his brilliant playoff performances, Yesavage has proven without question that he belongs.

Kazuma Okamoto

Speculation surrounded the Jays’ decision to go after Okamoto as a free agent and ultimately sign him for the next four years. So far, Okamoto has provided the Jays’ offense with their only true home run threat. The third baseman posted an impressive 19 home runs, some of the video-game type, with prodigious style and distance.

He has also compiled 54 RBI, giving the Jays their one viable run producer, who is on pace to eclipse the 100 RBI plateau. With Okamoto meeting expectations and Guerrero Jr. eventually showing up in the power department, the top of the order can again become an offensive threat, as Nathan Lukes returns to set the table in the leadoff spot. If these factors fall into place, the Jays should finally start to score runs and support a pitching staff that has carried the team thus far.
