The Steelers Kyler Murray Case

The Steelers made the playoffs in 2025, but couldn’t make it past the first round. Part of that could be the fact that their quarterback was 67 years old, and far from the perennial MVP he had been in his past. Even with the addition of his former coach, Mike McCarthy, it’s unlikely the Steelers will want Aaron Rodgers back. He isn’t the answer, and he won’t get them where they need to go.
So far this offseason, Pittsburgh has been loading up the offense for whoever takes over under center. The team already has DK Metcalf and Pat Freiermuth to catch passes, and they added Michael PittmanJr from the Indianapolis Colts as well. Not expecting to be an air raid offense, the team also signed back-to-back 1,000-yard rusher Rico Dowdle to pair with Jaylen Warren. They can ground and pound, or air it out, and as always, their defense is stout.
The Steelers could offer the starting spot to Murray with no competition. He brings his career 67.1% completion and 2:1 touchdown-interception ratio to the Steel City. He can also scramble, so much so that he would be a third running back in the team’s stable. This may be a better fit for Murray than Minnesota, so the question will be, does he think it will be easier to make the Super Bowl in the AFC or the NFC?
